Crawl Space Encapulation - Boydton, VA
Challenge
A homeowner is Boydton had continuous problems with water and moisture getting into their crawl space. This was causing a musty odor throughout the home. Because of the possibility of mold forming and decreasing the quality of the air in the above areas, this customer reached out to us here at Fortress Foundation Solutions to help them out!
Solution
After having our System Designer Jamey Elder come and take a look at the crawl space, he decided the best solution for the homeowner would to get the whole area encapsulated. Our Foreman Aaron Looney and his crew were ready to begin transforming the crawl space for this homeowner.
First, We installed our Clean Space Vapor Barrier to seal the area off from any humidity and water vapor from coming in. This will also play a big role in protecting the home above. This liner also keeps out any insects and rodents that thrive in well moistened areas. Another plus is that it also keeps away the frigid air in the winter.
Next, our crew put in a Smart Sump pump to work with the Clean Space liner to control and rid the presence of water. A really cool feature about the Smart Sump is that if there is a leak somewhere in the crawl space outside of our system, the sump pump will sound an alarm.
Finally, we had a Sani Dry Sedona dehumidifier put in by our crews to control the humidity level in the air of the crawl space at all times. Not only does it regulate the humidity levels, it does so while not negatively impacting the electric bill. Our Sani Dry Sedona is ENERGY STAR® certified so it removes more moisture (100 pints a day) for less electric cost than other models.
