How To Resolve Your Sagging Floors

Do the Floors above your crawlspace seem bouncy, soft, or possibly unleveled?

Here are some tips to help you identify if you have this problem!

  • If you have sloping floors or gaps between your floor and interior walls - you have a problem.
  • If you have cracks in your interior walls and gaps around your door frames - you have a problem.
  • If your doors stick or have been altered (planed) in order to close- you have a problem.
  • If you have shimming between the columns and girders in your crawlspace- you have a problem.
  • If you have moisture, wood rot, or compression of the floor joists in your crawlspace- you have a problem.

Why are you having these problems?

  • The existing columns in your crawlspace may be spaced too far apart. If the columns are too separated, your home's floor will begin to sag in-between them.
  • The moisture and humidity in your crawlspace begins to eat away at the wooden beams that are supporting your floors. This wood becomes weakened by the water, causing the soft beam to no longer support your floor.
  • Your existing columns may begin to settle themselves. When this occurs, the girder sags, causing your floors to sag.

Concrete columns- pouring concrete columns is time consuming. Also, the concrete is not adjustable; therefore, once the columns settle into the poor foundation soil under your home, you are back to having sagging floors.

Additional Shimming- shims are pushed between the existing column and the girder. These break easily and you will find yourself constantly repairing the damages time after time.

Here is ONE fantastic solution to fix ALL of your sagging floor issues!

Smart Jack Stabilizer:

  • They are super strong (made of steel).
  • They are adjustable.
  • They are the ONLY solution that addresses all of the problems listed above.

SmartJacks are the best opportunity to lift your above floors and walls back into their original position, while simultaneously transferring the load of your home off of the troubled soils beneath it.
