Andrew C. of Lynchburg, VA, had a wet basement. Since his workshop was down there, it was unusable. He was eager to get back to the hobby he enjoyed, so he called Fortress Foundation Solutions. Paul Heckman, system designer, was sent out to provide a 'heck of a solution' for his free estimate. Crew leader, Clarence Copeland (aka Cope), and his crew came out to jack out a trench around the basement. Our WaterGuard pipe and stone were laid in the trench and connected to the Triple Safe sump pump. The Triple Safe is the strongest pump and has a battery backup. This battery will keep the sump pumping in the event of a power outage. Concrete is then poured over the trench and left to dry. Fortress also installed CleanSpace vapor barrier on all basement walls. This antimicrobial material will direct any ground water entering the block walls downward, into the WaterGuard, to the sump pump and out of the basement. Andrew can now get back to his clean and dry workshop to do what he loves!
WaterGuard Product
A trench is jacked out around the basement and filled with WaterGuard and stone.
Triple Safe Sump Pump
The trench leads to the sump pump and after the WaterGuard and stone is laid, the trench is filled with concrete.
Battery Back Up
This battery back up will keep the sump pump pumping if the power goes out.
CleanSpace
Antimicrobial CleanSpace is installed on the walls. Any water coming into the block will be directed down into the WaterGuard. The water will flow to the sump pump and be pumped outside the home.
CleanSpace & WaterGuard
This photo shows how the CleanSpace is connected down into the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard sits in the trench and is connected allowing any water entering the basement to flow through the WaterGuard to the sump pump.
