Photo Album: A Crawl Space Encapsulation in Cumberland, VA

Greg R. called Fortress Foundation Solutions looking for an estimate for a crawl space encapsulation. His crawl space was dark, damp, musty and showed signs of having water in it! A System designer was happy to meet with him, explain the encapsulation products and provide a free, same-day estimate. Ready to move forward, he agreed. A Fortress crew were soon onsite installing drainage matting, CleanSpace vapor barrier, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep things dry. Now this crawl space is dry and Greg can enter the clean and bright area for loads of added storage space!

Minerals on the Walls & Mud on the Ground

Efflorescence is when water saturates the concrete block and dries out leaving minerals behind. The mud on the ground is an indication of water in this crawl space. Water in the crawl space damages the wood causing mold, mildew and wood rot.
