Basement Waterproofing - Charlottesville, VA
Challenge
A homeowner in Charlottesville, VA was having some water coming into their finished basement, they believed they knew where the water was coming from but were not 100%. Of course this was a huge inconvenience for them, so they called us here at Fortress Foundation Solutions to get to the root of the problem. We discovered that the water was in fact coming into the home at the seams of where the floor meets the walls.
Solution
After having one of our System Designers, Jamey Elder, go out to the home and look over the issues he decided the best solution for the home owner would be our Water Guard system and a Triple Safe sump pump.
Our Foreman Clarence Copeland took his crew to the home to begin working. The crew began by jackhammering the perimeter of the basement floor and installed the Water Guard system. By resting on top of the foundation footing, this system is designed to collect any water that seeps through the basement walls. From there, the water is then drained to our Triple Safe sump pump, which we also installed in this basement. This sump pump is designed to pump water caught by the Water Guard system to the outside of the home. It offers three levels of protection for your basement. For normal functioning, the TripleSafe has a powerful, cast-iron Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. In case that pump fails, it has a second pump that is higher in the liner that will take over. In case of a power outage or sump failure, there is an Ultra Sump battery backup system included in the TripleSafe sump as well. This battery backup can pump more than 11,500 gallons of water on a full charge.
The result was a happy customer with a dry basement!
