Basement Waterproofing & Bowing Wall
Challenge
These homeowners in Hillsville, VA had began to notice a few concerning issues with their home. After rain events water was making its way thought the foundation of the home. Water began to puddle up on the floor causing a mess to be cleaned up. Another issue these homeowners had noticed was the foundation walls beginning to bow outward. This bowing was causing cracking on the basement walls. After calling Fortress Foundation Solution, our Call Center was able to schedule an appointment for a free estimate with our System Designer, Robert Briggs.
Solution
After Robert took a close look at this home, he knew the best solution for the homeowners was our PowerBrace and our WaterGuard system. PowerBraces help to stabilize a wall. These braces are anchored to the wall and help any cracking or bowing of a foundation wall. Our WaterGuard system helps direct any water coming into the home to our TripleSafe sump pump. Once the water reaches the sump pump it is then sent out of the home though an outside discharge line.
Our Foreman, Brian Davis and his crew were able to install these products for this homeowner. The crew began by prepping the perimeter of the basement for the WaterGuard & TripleSafe to be installed. Once that was in place they covered the WaterGuard with crushed drainage stone.
Next, the crew began the installation for the PowerBraces. They measured and cut the braces to the correct length of the wall. Once all the PowerBraces were in place they cover the WaterGuard system with fresh cement for a clean finish.
