Aging Church Gets Needed Waterproofing System in Lynchburg, VA

Challenge

A church in Lynchburg, VA was having water seeping into the basement with every rain. It was an older building with brick basement/foundation walls. Older brick foundation walls can deteriorate over time bringing a compromise in support and water seepage. The church family was no longer able to have fellowship dinners due to the mildew smell and damage done to the walls. They needed help and called the experts - Fortress Foundation Solutions.

Solution

System Designer Paul Heckman, was happy to meet with them, inspect the church and offer a free estimate. He recommended a custom water proofing system for all areas of the basement. CleanSpace Vapor Barrier was an important part of this project. CleanSpace is antimicrobial and when covering the walls, directs all water seepage down and into the WaterGuard where it will drain to the sump and be pumped out.

Once the WaterGuard is set, the trench is then covered with concrete. The CleanSpace on the walls directs any water seepage into the WaterGuard.

This Triple Safe is our most powerful pump with three pumps inside and a battery back up. This discharge is under the concrete to minimize the appearance.
