Multiple Foundation Issues Solved In House 4 Sale near Hume, VA

Challenge

A customer near Hume, VA, wanted to sell their house, but knew it would be a problem due to the multiple foundation problems. 

Solution

All foundation issues needed to be solved before putting the house on the market. They called Fortress Foundation Solutions.  Caleb Stone, System Designer, completed a thorough inspection and provided a free estimate for all their problems. Knowing it could all be done at one time, they were elated!

First, all walls were bowing in under the front porch. This was remedied by our GeoLock earth anchors. These wall anchors are made of galvanized steel for a long-lasting solution that will prevent any further inward movement of your walls. Next, a foundation wall in the basement was bowing outward. In this case, the best product was our PowerBrace™ system. Consisting of steel I-beams secured to the joists above the wall with steel brackets, it can stop any further damage and potentially straighten the wall. Finally, one corner of the home had foundation settlement and needed three push piers installed from the interior in attempt to lift the foundation. After the dirt is put back, the piers will be undetectable. Once all the products were installed, the foundation was stabilized and this house was sold!
