Stone Wall Basement With Leaks In Keedysville, MD

Challenge

Hugh G. of Keedysville, MD, had a basement with stone walls. Ground and rain water would flow into the basement in between the rocks. Tired of having a wet, musty smelling basement, he called Fortress Foundation Solutions for a free estimate.

Solution

System Designer Skylar Beverage met with Hugh, completing a full inspection. He was happy to offer a permanent solution, a WaterGuard waterproofing system with Clean Space wall. Ready for a dry basement, Hugh agreed. Soon a Fortress crew was onsite to begin the project. First, they carefully jack hammered a trench around the perimeter of the affected area. WaterGuard, our patented drainage pipe, was set in the trench with gravel and covered with concrete. To solve the problem of the leaking walls, our CleanSpace is installed. This antimicrobial material directs all water downward into the WaterGuard where it flows to the Super Sump Sump Pump. The sump will pump it out and away from the home keeping the basement dry. Now when Hugh goes to his basement, he no longer has wet walls and floors and no more musty smells!

These stone walls are attractive, but leak water!

Trench drain is used around obstacles in the basement, like a hot water heater, and is connected to the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard flows to the Super Sump sump pump and is pumped out of the home.
