This home in Middletown, MD was having issues with water coming into the unfinished basement. The concerned homeowners called Fortress Foundation Solutions to provide a free estimate. Our System Designer, Skylar Beverage was able to meet with these homeowners and provide a solution. Skylar knew the best solution was out Water Guard system. This system sits around the perimeter of the basement and directs the water to our sump pump. Our Foreman, Nick and his crew worked hard to install this system. They began work by prepping the perimeter of the area for the Water Guard and our Sump Pump. Next the cut the Water Guard to the correct length. Once the Water Guard is in, the crew laid fresh drainage stone and cover this area with fresh cement for a clean finish.

Prepping

This photo shows after the crew dug the trench around the perimeter. They clean the broken cement out of the area to make room for the Water Guard.

Water Guard

In this photo you can see the crew is cutting the Water Guard and installing it into the trench. You can also see how the crew laid the stone around the Water Guard.

Sump Pump and Dehumidifier

This photo shows the completed work. The system has been installed. The crew laid fresh cement over the Water Guard. The sump pump has been installed and the dehumidifier is there to collect any humidity that comes in

Discharge

This is the outside discharge for the sump pump. Once the water travels through the water guard , it meets the sump pump. From the sump pump the water is pumped out of the home through this discharge line that is installed underground by our crew. We also laid down hay and grass seed to help the grass grow back.
