This Charlottesville, VA basement was having issues with water creeping in after rain events. The homeowners called Fortress Foundation Solutions to come and take a look. Our System Designer, Chris Wilmouth was able to visit this home and provide a free estimate for repairs. Once Chris was at the home he could see the staining on the wall and floor where the water was coming in. Chris knew the best solution to prevent this basement from taking on water again, was out Water Guard system. This system works to direct water to our sump pump. Once the water reaches the sump pump, the water is then pumped out the home through a discharge. This system is so great because the Water Guard sits on the footer of the home free of the "MUD ZONE" where trash and debris cant get in and clog this system!

Trench for Water Guard

This photo shows after the crew prepped the basement for our system . The crew digs a trench around the perimeter of the basement. This is where the Water Guard will be placed.

Clean Space wall & Water Guard

This photo shows after the crew completed the work. The crew installed our Clean Space wall. This clean space material is a super strong plastic sheeting. The purpose of putting this on the foundation of a home is simply to act as a barrier against any moisture that comes in through the walls. Any water that may seep in through the wall will then go directly to the Water Guard system that is located under the floor.

Triple Safe Sump pump, Sani Dry Dehumidifier & Battery Back-up

In this photo you can see our dehumidifier that is working hard to make the air quality in this basement better. Our Sump pump has been installed and is ready to pump out any water. Attached to our sump pump is a battery back up. This is very useful in the event your home looses power. This batter back up will be charged and ready to kick on to help power the sump pump continue to get the water out of the home.
