Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Does Fixing Water Problems From the Outside Really Work? This Lynchburg, VA Homeowner Would Say, "No"
Fix your water problem the right way - one time. This Pokeys Creek Rd, Lynchburg, VA homeowner had previously paid a company to fix his water issues from the outside. It worked for a while, until environmental conditions affecting the ground allowed water to come in once more. He called Fortress Foundation Solutions. Sonny Kingsbury, system designer, was able to complete a full inspection and provide an estimate of an internal solution that would never be affected by outside changes. Our Fortress crew, led by Kevin Ensley, installed his solution - a WaterGuard system with a Triple Safe sump pump. For this process our skilled installers jack hammer a trench around the perimeter of the home. Next, the WaterGuard piping and crushed stone are placed in the trench, connecting it to the Triple Safe sump pump. Any water coming in, goes into the WaterGuard and is channeled to the Triple Safe where it is pumped out through the discharge line. This step-by-step process completed by Kevin and his crew is shown in these photos.
Evidence of Water
These white chalky lines are evidence of water that has come through the block wall and then dried up leaving mineral residue behind.
WaterGuard in the Trench
WaterGuard and crushed stone are put into the trench and connected to the sump pump.
Concrete Covers the Trench
Once the system is in place, concrete is put back over the trench.
Triple Safe Sump Pump
The Triple Safe is the most power sump pump. Two of the pumps can handle a large amount of rain. The third pump is connected to a back up battery that is always charging. If the power goes out, it's ready to switch on to run the third pump.
Discharge line
The water is pumped from the sump pump out through the patented Ice Guard and out into the yard.
