Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Cleaned Up Crawl Space near Rhoadesville, VA
Kat S. called Fortress Foundation Solutions looking for an estimate for a crawl space encapsulation. She needed more storage space for a growing family. Her crawl space was dark, damp, musty and showed signs of having water in it! A System designer was happy to meet with them, explain the encapsulation products and provide a free, same-day estimate. Ready to move forward, she agreed. A Fortress crew was soon onsite installing drainage matting, CleanSpace vapor barrier, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep things dry. Now this crawl space is dry and the homeowner can enter the clean and bright area for loads of added storage space!
Moisture in the Crawl Space
Moisture laden insulation is falling down and efflorescence has built up on the walls.
Efflorescence is when water saturates the concrete block and dries out leaving minerals behind. The mud on the ground is an indication of water in this crawl space. Water in the crawl space damages the wood causing mold, mildew and wood rot.
Drainage Matting
Our crew is hard at work installing the drainage matting. This is an important part of our encapsulation process!
Completed!
The CleanSpace is our Vapor Barrier that seals the saturated ground from the home. This keeps any moisture from damaging the home's vital structure and keeps the inhabitants safe and healthy!
