Foundation Repair Photo Album: Chimney Repair in Boston, VA

A homeowner near Boston, VA called Fortress Foundation Solutions with concerns about the foundation of this home. Stair step cracks in the foundation had been growing around the chimney area. Our System Designer, Paul Heckman, was able to meet with these homeowners and provide them with a solution. After a complete inspection, Paul knew the best solution was to install Push Piers to support the chimney. Our Push Pier System is installed under the footer, preventing further settlement. These photos show the installation process. Now this home's chimney is sound again!

Foundation Cracks

This crack is over half an inch! Foundation settlement has caused stair step cracking and separation in the block. It will only get worse over time unless treated.

Holes Dug

The crew digs down where the piers will be installed. This allows them to be able to install the piers under the footers.

Piers Installed

Two Push Piers have been installed. The pier is a steel rod driven under the footer that will stabilize the home, keeping it from settling further. Once the piers are installed, the crew then back fills the area and the piers are undetectable.
