In Marion, Kelly was dealing with serious structural issues both inside and outside the home. A basement wall had begun bowing inward due to pressure from the surrounding soil, while signs of foundation settlement were becoming increasingly noticeable around the exterior. Cracks, shifting, and structural movement throughout the home made it clear that immediate stabilization was necessary.
Following a full inspection, our team developed a comprehensive repair plan to address both the bowing wall and the settling foundation. Toby and his crew installed six PowerBrace™ beams along the basement wall to stabilize the structure and stop further inward movement.
To permanently support the settling foundation, the crew also installed nine Push Piers and six Helical Piers around the exterior of the home. These systems were designed to stabilize the foundation and help prevent additional settlement over time.
As shown in the after photos, the home is now fully reinforced and structurally secure. Kelly can now enjoy peace of mind knowing the foundation has been professionally stabilized with long-term support solutions in place.
Notice in the before photo how the walls in this Hardy home were beginning to bow inward, compromising the structural integrity due to foundation issues. The homeowner contacted us to address this concern. We installed the innovative PowerBrace System to reinforce the failing walls. Our zinc-plated steel beams, custom-fitted to the basement's height, are tightly secured with stable anchors. This straightforward solution effectively stabilized the walls and provided permanent support without invasive procedures. Fortress Foundation Solutions ensured this Hardy residence’s foundation is reliable and secure.
This crawl space in Tazewell was dirty, unusable for storage, and had water damage from repeated flooding. Fortress solved these issues by installing a CleanSpace Encapsulation System and a SmartSump sump pump System with a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. Now this crawlspace will stay clean and dry, providing extra storage space for this homeowner.
Water was coming in through the customers cinder block walls, both on the walls that met the outside and a wall that met an adjacent crawlspace. This was causing water damage to the items stored and rust on the HVAC and water heater. Another big problem was the musty odors so often associated with musty, moldy, wet basements. Fortress Foundation Solutions ran a full perimeter waterproofing system and reduced moisture from the walls with the BrightWall vapor barrier. Our SuperSump pump replaced the underperforming old pump they'd had and as a final measure, and our SaniDry air system keeps the house dry and the air clean and odor-free.
This basement in Bluefield had flooding and mold issues. Fortress installed a full perimeter WaterGuard with a SuperSump Plus System to ensure that this basement will never flood again.
