Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

This homeowner in Elliston, VA called Fortress Foundation Solutions with concerns about the crawl space under the home. The area was taking on water. The water had no where to go and was causing a musty smell. After calling Fortress, our System Designer, Chris Wilmouth was able to come out and provide an estimate for an encapsulation.   Our crew installed these products to ensure a clean crawl space for years to come !

Our System Designer went out to assess this crawl space and recommended that the best solution would be to install a complete CleanSpace Encapsulation, along with SilverGlo Wall Insulation.

Our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier is designed to permanently prevent moisture and outside air from getting into your crawlspace. This homeowner now has a crawl space that is a much cleaner and brighter space.

This home owner had a crawlspace that wasn't causing any current issues, but they wanted to get ahead of any future problem that could arise! System Designer, Chris Guill, went to the property and provided the home owner with an option that would guarantee no water would ever get into the crawlspace in the future. We used our Clean Space Vapor Barrier System and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to accomplish this!  

A homeowner near Copper Hill, VA called Fortress Foundation Solutions after finding mold in their crawl space! The air from the crawl space does flow up and into the home - we call it the 'Stack Effect'. System Designer Caleb Stone, met with the homeowner and explained how air from your crawlspace enters your home along with everything in it - odors, and mold spores and dust mite feces. Air, often filled with more moisture, gets sucked into the crawlspace from the outdoors. In this sense, a poorly designed crawl space acts like a bad air machine! To stop the nasty cycle, this homeowner was ready to get an encapsulation. Foreman Travis Farmer and his crew, installed the SilverGlo insulation, CleanSpace vapor barrier and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. These work together to keep the crawl space dry and the air humidity low. Now this crawl space is only sending clean, moisture controlled air up into the home.

Peggy had previously encapsulated her crawl space with Fortress Foundation Solutions but chose to wait on adding a drainage system and sump pump. A few years later, she decided to complete the project and add the extra protection needed to better manage water beneath her Salem home.

Scott and his crew carefully removed sections of the existing CleanSpace® liner and installed an EZ Flow drainage system along with a TripleSafe™ sump pump. Once the new components were in place, the liner was reinstalled to maintain the integrity of the encapsulation system. As shown in the after photos, Peggy's crawl space now has enhanced protection against water intrusion and a more complete moisture management solution.
