Stephen K. had taken a look in his crawl space to see about some repairs. What he saw shocked him - mold and mildew on the woodwork, bugs and spider webs, falling down, moisture-saturated insulation, and stinky, musty smells. He called Fortress Foundation Solutions for a free estimate. A System Designer met with Stephen, inspected his crawl space and provided a free estimate for an encapsulation. Soon a Fortress crew was onsite installing drainage matting, SilverGlo insulation, CleanSpace vapor barrier, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. The CleanSpace is in place to seal the home from the damp earth. Moisture and its damaging effects on the wood structure of the home are kept out. The SilverGlo is installed on the walls and insulates to keep the home warm in winter and cool in the summer. It is moisture resistant and won't get moldy or break down. The final step is the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. It removes moisture from the air keeping the crawl space dry. When Stephen looks into his crawl space now, it is clean, dry and he knows his home is protected!
This crawlspace had major moisture issues. The homeowner approached Fortress Foundation Solutions because they were interested in keeping their crawlspace dry. The homeowners stated that he could not see any mold at the current time, but he did not want to risk the fact that mold could potentially grow in his crawlspace. Not only was his crawlspace damp, but it was also extremely dirty. The sump pump in the crawlspace was not very efficient and the crawlspace definitely needed a dehumidifier. Fortress began their work by removing all of the crawlspace’s debris. Next, we installed CleanSpace drain matting. Not only did Fortress cover the walls of the crawlspace, but we even wrapped the crawlspace’s columns. Fortress then replaced the crawlspace’s sump pump with a Smart Sump System (better quality pump) and installed a Sanidry XP (dehumidifier) to remove the unwanted water from the crawlspace air. This water exited the crawlspace by pump discharge units and LawnScape (which directs the water away from the house). Along with these other installations, Fortress also sealed of the crawlspace’s vents. Closing the vents of your crawlspace is one of the best improvements you can make to create a cleaner and more energy efficient space. The last thing that Fortress installed was an Everlast crawlspace door. This crawlspace is now moisture free and completely inhabitable to mold.
In Gainesville, VA, a home's crawl space was battling against water intrusion, compromising its integrity and air quality - a stress no homeowner deserves. Recognizing the urgency of restoring safety and comfort, our dedicated crew embarked on a transformation journey. By integrating the powerful duo of CleanSpace and SaniDry Sedona, not only did we seal off water's entryway, but also revolutionized air circulation beneath the home. Notice in the photo how what was once a damp, neglected area is now a clean, dry, and energy-efficient space. By trusting in Fortress Foundation Solutions, this homeowner not only reclaimed their crawl space but set a new standard for living environments. Our commitment remains clear: delivering remarkable solutions for enduring peace of mind.
This is the beginning phase of one of our recent projects. The homeowner's request was for Fortress Foundation Solutions to fix the floors and dirt basement area of her home.
Our production team cleared out the area and leveled the dirt floor. CleanSpace encapsulation system was installed to isolate the house from the ground helping to control tempature and moisture within the space. Smart Jacks replaced wooden supports to lift and stabilize the beams and floor joists. The threaded rods within the steel comuns allowed for adjustment and custom fit for each Smart Jack installed. The Super Sump plus pumping system was installed to keep water draining away from the area. With the high-end 1/3 horsepower Zoeller pump, this system has the best pump available, pumping nearly 2650 gallons of water an hour. The patented SuperLiner has an airtight lid to prevent debris from getting in and moisture and odors from getting out. This sump system also includes the WaterWatch alarm system that will sound if water rises above the point where pump should turn on to alert of any potential problems before damage occurs. The transformation of this area now provides additional storage and a clean, protected environment for the homeowner.
This homeowner reached out to Fortress because they had a crawlspace that was wet and musty, and needed our help!
Our System Designer, Curt Withrow, went out to assess the crawlspace and recommended a complete CleanSpace encapsulation, along with Smart Drain .
Our CleanSpace vapor barrier is designed to permanently prevent moisture and outside air from getting into your crawlspace. Together, the vapor barrier and SmartDrain will ensure that this cawlspace will stay clean and dry.
