Lawrence T. reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions after discovering standing water and moisture beginning to damage his wooden floor joists. Moisture-saturated insulation was also falling down in his crawl space. How could this be happening? He had laid down plastic over the ground and thought his crawl space would be protected. Many people don't think about the effects moisture has as it rises from the ground under their homes. If left untreated, the moisture will cause thousands of dollars' worth of damage in the future. Our Fortress System Designers help educate customers on protecting their home by providing printed materials, using video media, through conversation, and of course, providing a free estimate for repair. Lawrence's crawl space needed SilverGlo insulation, CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, and SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. The SilverGlo is installed on the walls and insulates to keep the home warm in winter and cool in the summer. It is moisture resistant and won't get moldy or break down. The CleanSpace Vapor Barrier seals off the home from the damp/wet ground below. The SaniDry Sedona removes excess moisture, keeping the area dry and protecting the wood. Lawrence's home is his biggest asset. Why wouldn't he want to protect it with his custom solution from Fortress Foundation Solutions?
This home had severe moisture and mold build up in the crawlspace. Our crew was able to remove the mold and fully encapsulate the crawlspace with our CleanSpace system. To ensure the space stays dry and remove the risk of future mold growth, sealing the crawl space off to the outside elements is key. Adding a Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier is the last step to remove any moisture in the crawlspace eliminating the chance for future mold or mildew growth.
Fortress Foundation Solutions installed CleanSpace drainage matting, a CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, SmartJacks, and a SaniDry XP Dehumidifier with an external discharge.
Older homes tend to have both a basement and a crawlspace which sometimes can cause issues with the home's foundation. This home was over 100 years old and had floors that were sagging due to the structural supports in the crawlspace. System Designer, Dave Mauldin, went out and provided this homeowner with a permanent solution for the home. He also recommended we complete a full crawlspace encapsulation to ensure there are no more issues with mold and moisture.
The crawl space of this home in New Castle was damp and dirty, and needed some help!
Our System Designer went out to assess this crawl space and recommended that the best solution would be to install a complete CleanSpace Encapsulation, along with SilverGlo Wall Insulation.
Our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier is designed to permanently prevent moisture and outside air from getting into your crawlspace. This homeowner now has a crawl space that is a much cleaner and brighter space.
