In Thurmont, MD, a homeowner had been dealing with ongoing water intrusion and finally reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions for a permanent solution. In the before photos, you can see how the homeowner was using the basement for storage, but moisture issues had caused mold to begin growing on various stored items.
To solve the problem, Fortress installed a full-perimeter interior waterproofing system featuring WaterGuard®, connected to a TripleSafe™ sump pump system. We also installed CleanSpace® wall vapor barrier to help direct water to the drainage system while brightening the appearance of the basement.
Now, the homeowner can confidently use their basement for storage or future living space without worrying about water intrusion.
In Adamstown, MD, a homeowner was looking to upgrade their crawl space and contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions for a free inspection. Paul, one of our experienced System Designers, performed a thorough evaluation of the crawl space and discovered signs of water intrusion and elevated humidity levels.
After reviewing his findings and recommendations, the homeowners decided to move forward with the project. Our crew removed the hanging insulation, addressed the water issues, installed our drainage system, and tied everything into a TripleSafe™ sump pump system.
While a TripleSafe™ sump pump is not typically necessary in every crawl space, this particular home was taking on a significant amount of water. Based on the conditions, we determined that installing the sump pump was the best long-term solution to properly protect the crawl space and keep it dry.
At Fortress Foundation Solutions, we take pride in helping homeowners protect their properties from structural damage. Recently, a customer reached out to us with concerns about a leaning retaining wall at their home. Over time, soil pressure and environmental factors had caused the wall to shift, posing a risk to both the property and safety.
Understanding the urgency of the situation, we sent System Designer Riley to assess the damage. During the inspection, Riley carefully examined the wall’s condition and identified the best solution to restore its stability. After a thorough evaluation, he provided the homeowner with a detailed quote and repair plan to address the issue effectively.
To correct the leaning wall and prevent further movement, our team installed GeoLock wall anchors—a proven system designed to straighten and stabilize foundation walls over time. These heavy-duty anchors provide long-term support by counteracting the external pressure that caused the wall to shift in the first place.
After installing the GeoLock anchors, the retaining wall was significantly reinforced, restoring both its functionality and structural integrity. The homeowner now has peace of mind knowing their property is protected from further damage.
Ms. Home Owner Called Fortress Foundation Solutions because she noticed her floors were sagging and soft.
We sent out our system designer Skylar and he was swiftly able to diagnose and find a cure for her damp crawl space.
Gary and his crew hustled and got the job done while working with Ms. Home owner's time restraints and ended up leaving her crawl space safe, happy and healthy!
Homeowner Helen, located in Frederick, Maryland, was in desperate need of a dehumidifier for her cellar. Moisture was collecting on her HVAC unit and water heater, and she didn’t like how damp the air felt - especially since she stored many of her seasonal items and belongings downstairs.
After a friend recommended Fortress Foundation Solutions, Helen reached out to us for help. Matt came out to inspect the property and knew the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier would be the perfect fit because Helen wanted a system she wouldn’t have to constantly maintain herself.
That same week, our service technician Donny installed the Sedona dehumidifier for her. Now, Helen’s humidity levels are under control, and she’s no longer dealing with excess moisture or condensation in her cellar.
