Fortress Foundation Solutions Before & After Photos

A homeowner near Copper Hill, VA called Fortress Foundation Solutions after finding mold in their crawl space! The air from the crawl space does flow up and into the home - we call it the 'Stack Effect'. System Designer Caleb Stone, met with the homeowner and explained how air from your crawlspace enters your home along with everything in it - odors, and mold spores and dust mite feces. Air, often filled with more moisture, gets sucked into the crawlspace from the outdoors. In this sense, a poorly designed crawl space acts like a bad air machine! To stop the nasty cycle, this homeowner was ready to get an encapsulation. Foreman Travis Farmer and his crew, installed the SilverGlo insulation, CleanSpace vapor barrier and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. These work together to keep the crawl space dry and the air humidity low. Now this crawl space is only sending clean, moisture controlled air up into the home.

Fortress Foundation Solutions installed CleanSpace liner, FoamMax insulation, SaniDry dehumidifier, and TripleSafe sump pump with external discharge. 

The crawl space of this home in Grottoes was wet and musty, and really needed some help!

Fortress went out and installed a complete CleanSpace encapsulation, along with a TripleSafe sump pump, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier.

This crawlspace in Grottoes was leaking and moldy. The dirt floor was covered in a thin layer of plastic that did not stop water and mud from getting in. The insulation was damp and falling down. Fortress solved these problems by installing a CleanSpace Encapsulation with a SmartSump Crawl Space Sump Pump System to ensure that this crawlspace will stay clean and dry!

Our system designer, Chris Guill, went out to their home to do a complete inspection. After providing an estimate that included a full perimeter WaterGuard System along with a TripleSafe Sump Pump, this homeowner quickly agreed! 

Our WaterGuard System is the ideal choice when waterproofing a basement. This French drain system is installed below the floor slab, resting on top of the foundation footing, keeping the drainage system out of the "mud zone" where it could potentially get clogged. All water enters the WaterGuard flowing to the sump pump and is pumped out of the home. The TripleSafe includes three pumps - two for heavy rains and the third connected to a battery backup in case the power goes out. Now the basement is dry in all situations.
