Steve N. reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions after discovering mold and mildew on the woodwork, bugs and spider webs, falling down, moisture-saturated insulation, and stinky, musty smells. He had laid down plastic over the ground and thought his crawl space would be protected.
Our Fortress System Designers help educate customers on protecting their home by providing printed materials, using video media, through conversation, and of course, providing a free estimate for repair. Steve's crawl space needed drainage matting, SilverGlo insulation, a Smart Sump Sump Pump, and a CleanSpace Vapor Barrier. The SilverGlo is installed on the walls and insulates to keep the home warm in winter and cool in the summer. The Smart Sump pumps excess water outside the home. The CleanSpace Vapor Barrier seals off the home from the damp/wet ground below. When Steve looks into his crawl space now, it is clean, dry and he knows his home is protected!
This customer came to Fortress Foundation with a moldy and muddy crawlspace from repeated flooding. Fortress addressed these issues bu installing a CleanSpace encapsulation with a SmartSump System so the basement will never flood again. Another issue faced by this customer was there rotting crawl space door, so Fortress installed am EverLast Crawl Space Door to make sure the door would never rot again.
This home in Crozet had a crawl space that was damp and dirty and needed some help!
Our System Designer, Scott Llewellyn, went out to this assess this crawl space and recommended that the best solution would be to install a complete CleanSpace encapsulation and SilverGlo Wall insulation.
Our CleanSpace vapor barrier is designed to permanently prevent moisture and outside air from getting into your crawlspace. These products will work together to ensure that this crawl space will remain clean and dry!
This home was a special project for our Fortress Foundation Solutions team. The family residing in the home had a special need to be free of invasive water because of health concerns. Our system designer went to this property to give the family recommendations. He knew how important it was to the family to make sure there was no unwanted moisture coming into the home. Our Fortress Foundation Solutions foreman Charlie Evans and his team started the project by re-grading the crawlspace, which will also help with water not pooling. As you can see the space, while uncluttered, was very dingy. After re-grading, the crew completed the encapsulation with the drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier to leave the space clean and dry. The family residing here will be living in a healthier environment. The Fortress Foundation Solutions team was fortunate to be able to help this family.
The owner of this home called us with concern due to the water seeping into her crawlspace. Not only was the crawlspace damp, but it was also extremely dirty. Cobwebs were climbing the walls along with the insulation falling from the ceiling. We were able to address all of the issues this homeowner was concerned with. Fortress Foundation Solutions first cleaned up this crawlspace by encapsulating it with CleanSpace dry matting. Although CleanSpace is usually installed from floor to ceiling, this homeowner asked that we only do the floor and the columns. Instead of CleanSpace on the walls, we installed Foamax. This was the homeowner’s personal preference. Foamax is a two inch thick insulation foil that is used to increases energy efficiency even more than CleanSpace. Rim Band Foam was also installed to seal off all air infiltration from the outside environment. To address the unwanted water, Fortress installed a Sanidry Condensate Pump and Lawnscape. Both help move the water out and away from the crawlspace and the home. Fortress left this crawlspace clean, dry, and extremely energy efficient.
