Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

This Collinsville, VA resident called Fortress Foundation Solutions with concerns regarding their crawl space. The crawl space was taking on water after it rained. Our System Designer was able to visit this home and provide a solution to these homeowners. The System Designer recommended an Encapsulation. 

Our Forman and his crew were able to turn this plan into a reality. The crew installed out CleanSpace Vapor Barrier along with our SaniDry Dehumidifier. The CleanSpace acts as a barrier to protect the crawl space from the outside elements. Our SaniDry Dehumidifier eliminates any moisture or humidity that may be in the area.   

Gerald T. reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions after discovering standing water and moisture beginning to damage his wooden floor joists. Moisture-saturated insulation was also falling down in his crawl space. How could this be happening? He had laid down plastic over the ground and thought his crawl space would be protected. Many people don't think about the effects moisture has as it rises from the ground under their homes. If left untreated, the moisture will cause thousands of dollars' worth of damage in the future. Our Fortress System Designers help educate customers on protecting their home by providing printed materials, using video media, through conversation, and of course, providing a free estimate for repair. Gerald's crawl space needed EZ Flow drainage, a Smart Sump Sump Pump, CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. EZ Flow directs groundwater to the Smart Sump, which pumps the water outside the home. The CleanSpace Vapor Barrier seals off the home from the damp/wet ground below. The SaniDry Sedona removes excess moisture, keeping the area dry and protecting the wood. Gerald's home is his biggest asset. This crawl space in Keene was leaking and moldy. The dirt floor was covered in a thin layer of plastic that did not stop water and mud from getting in. Fortress solved these problems by installing a CleanSpace Encapsulation with a SmartSump Crawl Space Sump Pump System to ensure that this crawl space will stay clean and dry!

Fortress Foundation Solutions raked and leveled this customer's crawlspace, removed old, ineffective black plastic barrier, and removed falling insulation. We then installed drainage matting, CleanSpace liner, FoamMax insulation, a TripleSafe sump pump with external discharge, and a SaniDry dehumidifier.
