This large crawl space in Mc Gaheysville had many issues caused by water intrusion. Not only were the walls stained, but there was also mold growing on them. This not only affects the crawl space, but also the air quality of the entire house. Mold is a big issue that can cause insomnia, heightened anxiety and depression, hair loss and many cold-like symptoms. Long-term exposure can even cause long term and sometimes permanent lung damage! Fortress believes in treating every homeowner like family and wants to make sure that our family is not becoming sick by and easily solved problem. Fortress went to this home and installed a CleanSpace Encapsulation, a SmartSump Crawl Space Sump Pump System, a full perimeter WaterGuard, and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. This family can rest assured that their crawl space is clean, dry, and mold free!
This home’s large crawlspace caused numerous problems for its homeowner. The space was damp, moist, and extremely dirty. Insulation was hanging down from the ceiling. The entire space was dusty and dirty. And water stains were all over the concrete blocks causing efflorescence and mold to be found on the walls and ceiling. Water was clearly not exiting this crawlspace properly. Even though this space needed multiple installations, Fortress Foundation Solutions was able to get the job done! In this 5 day install, Fortress provided this homeowner with solutions to transform her crawlspace. First, Fortress removed all of the debris and insulation from the space. After the space was clear, we then covered the ground, columns, and walls with CleanSpace drain matting. An interior drainage system, EZ Flow, was installed to help remove the unwanted water which was settling in the crawlspace. Two exterior drainage solutions were provided, the IceGuard and Lawnscape; these products remove the water from the crawlspace and allow it to travel further from the home. This ensures that the water will not seep back into the crawlspace. All of this water was pumped out of the crawlspace via a SmartSump. A Sanidry XP was installed to counteract the high humidity level (which was causing the mold to grow). Lastly, Fortress sealed all of the crawlspace’s vents with CleanSpace and installed an Everlast crawlspace door.
This basement in Cross Junction had a wall that was leaking by the water heater. This can cause rusting and other damage to the water heater. To solve this issue, Fortress installed the WaterGuard system around the water heater and hooked it up to the existing sump pump.
A homeowner near Copper Hill, VA called Fortress Foundation Solutions after finding mold in their crawl space! The air from the crawl space does flow up and into the home - we call it the 'Stack Effect'. System Designer Caleb Stone, met with the homeowner and explained how air from your crawlspace enters your home along with everything in it - odors, and mold spores and dust mite feces. Air, often filled with more moisture, gets sucked into the crawlspace from the outdoors. In this sense, a poorly designed crawl space acts like a bad air machine! To stop the nasty cycle, this homeowner was ready to get an encapsulation. Foreman Travis Farmer and his crew, installed the SilverGlo insulation, CleanSpace vapor barrier and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. These work together to keep the crawl space dry and the air humidity low. Now this crawl space is only sending clean, moisture controlled air up into the home.
Fortress Foundation Solutions installed CleanSpace liner, FoamMax insulation, SaniDry dehumidifier, and TripleSafe sump pump with external discharge.
